Snap-a-Slip turns a photo of a receipt into clean bookkeeping data in four steps. You photograph a slip, send it to our WhatsApp number, the AI reads the merchant, total, 15% VAT and date, and it files itself into the right category for SARS. No app, no spreadsheet, no typing. Step 1 · CaptureOn WhatsApp

Snap a photo and send it on WhatsApp.

Save the Snap-a-Slip number, open the chat, and send a photo of your slip the same way you would send one to a friend. There is no upload screen and no app to install. Lay the receipt flat, get the whole slip in frame, and keep your thumb off the totals. That is the entire capture step.

  • Anything paper or PDF. Till slips, fuel, parking, restaurant tabs, hotel bills and online-order PDFs.
  • Crooked and crumpled is fine. The OCR is tuned for South African vendors and faded thermal slips.
  • No login. Your WhatsApp number is your account. There is nothing else to set up.
Step 2 · ExtractionWhat the AI pulls out

Get every figure back in seconds.

Within seconds the bot replies, and the slip appears on your dashboard as clean data: merchant, date, total, 15% VAT, currency and category. A confidence score sits next to each field so you know what to glance at, and the original photo stays attached as your proof.

It files itself into the right category.

Every slip lands in the right South African expense category on its own, from Groceries and Fuel to Banking fees and Medical. When you move one to a different category, Snap-a-Slip remembers for the next slip from that vendor. Rename, recolour, or add your own categories any time.

When it is time to file, push slips live to Xero as draft bills with the photo attached, or download a CSV or a formatted PDF report. Need it for Sage or QuickBooks? Grab a CSV shaped for each. Need the originals? Download a ZIP of every receipt photo for the period.
